Greetings everyone!  When the first ELCC Newsletter went out in January of this year, we were facing weeks of cold, wet weather ahead of us.  We can rejoice that we are transitioning into spring in the Puget Sound area.  Rain that changes overnight to sun and back again reminds us that nature is reawakening and soon we will see the abundance that this brings.  Praise be to God.

I wanted to share some of the activities and accomplishments within the ELCC over the last few months.  We are indeed moving forward in exciting ways.

  • We have formed the first ELCC Advisory Board with representation from each of the Cluster churches. We met as a body via Zoom in February and March, with an in-person gathering on April 12.
  • Sammamish Hills, Mount Si, and Our Savior have joined the ELCC. We are thrilled to be in partnership with one another.
  • Holy Trinity on Mercer Island has joined our Conference. We hope to engage them with the ELCC as soon as they are comfortable doing so.
  • We are actively seeking out opportunities to share staff and resources. Opportunities exist in sharing bookkeeping services, administrative support, facility management, and landscaping maintenance.  We will continue to explore how we can best steward our resources as we move forward.
  • The ELCC website has been updated and continues to expand to include new content. Look for ELCC Advisory Board meeting minutes, FAQ’s, presentations, and a list of activities and events that are occurring within the ELCC.
  • We are working to finalize a logo for our organization. We are creating an identity to be proud of!

Next meeting of the ELCC Advisory Board will be via Zoom on May 22.  We meet on the fourth Thursday each month at 4:00.

May God bless you all as we explore our future together.
